Professor Milty is a retired Entomologist that owns the lovely little home on the property where Sebastian and his woodland friends live.  He is a ‘Bug Scientist’ and has an uncanny relationship with the bugs that live, work and play near the woodland pond just a stone’s throw from the house.  The Professor takes a nightly stroll, down the lane, to get the mail.  Because he is a ‘bug-scientist’ he is never without his trusty magnifying glass which he carries in the pocket of his worn, blue tweed jacket; always ready should there be an impromptu bug-sighting on their nightly trek down the lane!

Scout accompanies the professor every night listening closely to stories about the magical bugs at the pond’s edge.  Invariably, there is a rustling of the underbrush or a bug wisking through the air to spark their curiosity and through the professor’s looking glass Sebastian’s world unfolds and we catch a glimpse of the talking bugs and their nightly adventures

Charli is a sweet, little caterpillar with bright blue eyes and a heart of gold.  She is Sebastian’s constant companion and easily swayed by the promise that everything will be alright so, she is generally up for any nightly adventure Sebastian can dream up and follows through good idea or bad.  Charli is not quite as daring as Sebastian.  Many of their harrowing adventures leave her shaking in all 10 of her boots but she presses on, following her friend… shenanigan after shenanigan because helping Sebastian out is all she really wants to do.

Dart is a super speedy little dragonfly who cruises around the woodland pond she hatched from… now calling it home with her dragonfly family ‘n friends.  She can be seen playing sky-tag with Edison and his team nearly every night.  Edison thinks she is beautiful.  He can rarely catch up to her though for she is one of the fastest flying insects inhabiting the pond.

Dart doesn’t often stick around to chat but like her woodland friends she’s always there when called upon to help.  She’s a member of the ’When Bugs Fly Team’ and teamwork matters especially when one of her friends needs her! 

Edison is a colorful little firefly.  He is smart, rather serious and oh so helpful.  Edison, many times, is Sebastian’s voice of reason guiding his impulsive nature in the right direction and keeping him and his friends out of a whole heap of trouble.  Edison would like nothing more than to see his best friend’s biggest & brightest wish come true but… Sebastian simply has no wings.  So, Edison and Sebastian work as a nightly team, Edison and his team keeping all the woodland friends safe from the sky and Sebastian from the pond’s edge just like best buddies will do.

Scout is a surly, old hound dog that lives on the property where Sebastian and his bug-buddies play the whole night through.  He lives in the impeccable gray, stone house by the pond with his owner, Professor Milty.  Scout and the professor have been there a very long time.  Scout rules the property, patrols it daily but his eyesight is getting a bit dim so he relies his keen sense of smell to track Sebastian and his friends every chance he gets holding out hope of catching them one day. 

Truth be told Scout wouldn’t hurt a fly or a slug for that matter; his bark is definitely worse than his bite but he goes about his daily routine canvasing the yard, close to the house, anyway hoping the magical bugs make an appearance while he’s out on the prowl.
